Gemini, the twins; a spring landscape with leaves fully out on the trees, with boating on a river and men and women, probably intended as lovers, walking and in conversation beside the river, and entering the door of a house in the distance. Boating and lovers walking are common for May, although boating is particularly popular in Flemish calendars, and is seldom depicted elsewhere in Europe. In some cases the lovers are accompanied by a musician, and in France a man carrying a falcon is sometimes accompanied by a woman.
